Really cute illustrations, written for a variety of audiences, very interesting stories about women from all walks of life who made huge contributions to science.
One of the more dense poetry collections I've read. I'd appreciate the mastery of Hutchinson's poetry much more if I could place the numerous literary/classics references in the poems. I kept getting the sense that I was reading something rich and beautiful, but I couldn't quite grasp it.
Not sure what I think about this book. It was humorous, but I wouldn't call it funny. The feel was more of an examination of what happens when you put a bunch of strangers in a weird situation that they can't readily escape. There was quite a bit of science here, which didn't necessarily add depth to the story (except at the very end) but it wasn't off-putting either.
First of all, little black girl scientist? Yes please.
Second, it's in rhyme
Third, Ada is hilarious and inquisitive and unafraid to ask questions and do something weird.
So delightful.
