i randomly picked this up scrolling through libby and i can’t believe this is now one of my new favorite books of the year if not all time. my heart hurts and i need to buy my own copy so i can live with some of these lines forever

4.75/5 i could pore over this for a lifetime wow insanely beautiful writing and stark messages i just thought sometimes the meaning was a bit muddled and went over my head

contrary to other reviews i don’t feel like the lack of mentions of anna’s marriage made the book feel like it was missing anything however i think it should’ve ended when anna’s relationship with doctor carr ended and i found her time and relationships in the mental hospital to be the center of my interest

my introduction to McSweeney’s!!! i have a great appreciation for these people and their works none of them i didn’t enjoy
