I think I much more enjoy the comic format for this series. 

I expected to immediately fall in love with this book but at the start it was a bit of a struggle. As it picked it I was less interested in reflections of their relationship but in reading from Leah’s perspective of being in the submarine. Overall I did really enjoy this and I do want to reread it later and maybe have a better appreciation for the writing style. I don’t think it dragged on further than it needed to for this kind of story. 

Started off really strong and I was super excited so I actually finished it in one sitting. However, the revel was mediocre and then I really had to chug along towards the end. Felt so …. weak overall I’m a little sad. 

I am so on the fence about this book. I feel like every argument I make against it, I can then make an argument defending the book. I think overall it was a lack of feeling complete. Not even just about the ending but the entirety of the book I wanted a little more of something else but overall I did enjoy reading this and I’m happy I got to finish it.

I will say that the author has an amazing ability to write some of the most unlikeable characters in a novel ever. Part of it was the writing style and the other part was that I was actually expecting something else. Oh well at least it was a fairly quick read.
