Wow that was good! This story really takes you on a complete mind trip and it’s really one of those stories where you have to trust that your confusion is not a bad thing. Maybe too much of it went over my head but I still felt like I got something out of it in the end. There are certainly some eerie parts and I thought that the writing style really fit the character. 

I wasn't entirely too sure on how to rate this. I was really interested in this story and for the most part I was into it, but something just feels lacking overall. Perhaps that it doesn't feel like we dive too much into certain topics touched on in the story. I didn't mind the characters all that much but this isn't exactly a story that will be staying with me much longer.

'his book as fun, but overall okay. It was an easy read and I vas able to really get into the story. However, the story itself vas just okay. There were some parts I found slightly eerie ut at around the 50% mark I was hoping the characters vould get a move on. I don't have much to say but I did have a good time in the end.

I have discovered the endless joy of DNFing books and now I cannot stop. Anyway, I was kinda liking this and then I wouldn’t but I’d push through and I just had to be honest: I hated this. What can I say that hasn’t already been said much better in all the one/two star reviews. Good riddance and onto better reads hopefully. 

Wow I feel like everyone is playing a sick joke on me … this is the book that has a 4+ star rating? 

I don’t even how to rate this so I won’t. But wow now I’m a little scared to go back to my library. 

Wow wow wow .... something about this book called to me in the library and it was everything I've been wanting to read. I love reading books about cults, fiction or non-fiction, and this just hit everything I love. It flips back and forth between past and present, following an 18 year old who ran away to be in a cult at the age of 15. I can't lie and say this book isn't pretentious in its writing because it most certainly is.
However, sometimes pretentiousness works really well to draw the reader into the story and I think this did it perfectly.

This was the perfect length and it never lingered too much at any certain point in the story. The characters, although unlikable for the most part, were just too fascinating to read about. I will say though that the main female character did fall under the "manic pixie dream girl" in that I never felt she was given enough consideration. A lot of her story and actions felt just perfect enough for the main male character's story to keep going and that kind of sucked. But wow that ending hit! My jaw was open the whole last chapter.

Not a complete five star because this is definitely a book I want to revisit; it just feels like little things went over my head.

I didn't realize that this book was the end of Tally's story and the fourth book in this series actually follows a new character. I'm really happy that Tally's story ends here, I was getting tired of reading about her. I do think this book was slightly better than Pretties and more enjoyable for sure; but still not as good as the first book. I will say that, although there are elements of a love story within this series, I like that they are not the focus of everything. I think the ending was too rushed and I kept forgetting that throughout all this Tally was STILL sixteen. Like okay so all this happened in less than a year?? Right .....

Well I'm gonna read the fourth book and I'm a little excited to see what direction it goes in.

Wow this had hooked from the first page. Although on the shorter side, it feels like I really did just spend three whole days following Kenji and Frank around. There is a very nice build up to what you as the reader know is coming just not exactly how; followed by the come down of such a violent experience. I think there is definitely so much I much I missed with this first reading and I cannot wait to buy a copy of this book and revisit it.

Oh wow what a fall from the first book. This just felt like so much filler it made me want to not finish it but I did it! We spend more than half the book just reading about Tally doing the most lame things to make sure that she's not losing her grip post surgery. However, after a few 100 pages I was ready for her to leave the city and start making plans to take down the new Pretty Government. Just too long and I felt like nothing was really achieved here. This also started to feel much more YA than the previous book.
