A fantastic sweet little book. The characters are marvelous, the world is built well, the premise is fun and everything is well written.
This was an absolute delight to read and I almost managed it in one sitting (darn having real life interruptions!!)
Looking forward to the next one in a couple of months!

The good guys are funny. The dog is the best character.
There are so manh bad things happening in this book that I honestly felt bad enjoying the found family bit.
Overall, I don't know how to feel about this story, so 2.25/5

The first third was clever, funny & interesting. After that it became repetitive. Add in the fact that the main character is an expert at everything he does, none his plans ever fail & when things go wrong it ends up in his favor anyway.....
My favorite character was the lawyer robot bird but after 52% I stopped caring about everyone & just skimmed the rest of the book.

Well, from the summary it seemed like a very interesting book, but it was a robot war with very graphic bits about killing humans, then turned to robot vs robot war, complete with robot Jesus and rednecks.
Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this.
Some parts were slightly humorous but almost all of the twists you can see coming if you've read any scifi or mysteries.
I skipped MINUTES in the audiobooks because of some of the descriptions of violence.

The story was kind of cute but there are a lot of "holy crap / wtf" moments, all regarding violence. The characters push the story for sure, but they main characters are teenagers and waffle between being incredibly smart and absolute idiots.
The teleportation part was fascinating to me but is barely involved.
Not a fan of this one, and my second disappointment by Drew. I really enjoyed the Hike but this one was a miss for me.

Very disappointed in this book. It was more daily life & complaints (about EVERYTHING - covid, parents, rich people, police, technology, politics, IKEA furniture, romance.) Than mystery.
The ball doesn't even get rolling on the mystery until 57% of the way, and even then it is two pages. The next time the big mystery rolls around the book is already 90% done!! The entire mystery is 24 pages long & wrapped up incredibly easily.
The first book was such a delight & I was very looking forward to this one, but i barely made it through half way before being extremely frustrated.
There's almost no story & the characters are much more flat than they were last book.
