I'm still not sure how I actually feel about this book. On the one hand, it seemed to me like a comment on marriage in the sense that you can never really know someone and they are probably always going to let you down. On the other hand, Lotto and Mathilde knew each other for almost no time at all before getting married so of course they didn't know one another. I'm actually giving this book 3.5 stars but do not feel like it deserves the rounding up. The writing is great but I did not like Lotto or Mathilde and the dynamic of their marriage depressed me more than anything.
4.5/5 ish stars! This would have possibly been a 5 star book if there had been a little less of a religious aspect but I still loved it. This made me really want to read Simon VS the Homosapien Agenda, I saw and loved the movie and this book was very reminiscent of it. There's nothing more heartwarming than a young person in high school discovering who they are and being loved for it. And if Hannah and Baker can be accepted in a Catholic school in Louisiana for having "SSA," anyone can!
