adventurous medium-paced

I couldn't put this one down! I'm already a huge Fonda Lee fan after reading the Green Bone Saga twice and while this is young adult, it has Fonda Lee's usual great plotting and writing. I was a little skeptical going in knowing it would be a martial arts heavy book but the Green Bone Saga has such well-written fight scenes that I hoped the same would be true in Breath of the Dragon and I was not disappointed! I've been drifting away from reading young adult books in the last few years after all of them started to feel the same but I enjoyed Breath of the Dragon from start to finish and can't wait for the next book!

Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc!

Plot or Character Driven: Character
Loveable characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Normal People is the second book I've read by Sally Rooney and while I don't think it's my favorite of the two, I found myself unable to stop thinking about it. Her characters are always so compelling, and the poor choices they make are frustrating but all too believable.
informative

I hadn't really thought about the connection that fascists make between racism and efforts to restrict women's rights in the name of "protection" and safeguarding the "future of the country," but Jason Stanley explains it so well!

This started out very interesting but ultimately fell flat. I was interested in this since I knew nothing about this conflict but by the end, I didn't care about any of the characters and was indifferent to the outcome.
