Wein has such beautiful writing and makes a difficult time period and subject both digestible and accurate while also making it an amazing story to read. This book didn't gut me the way Code Name Verity did (simply because of what happens to characters) but it's an incredibly solid companion book. At first I wasn't sure if Code Name Verity needed a companion but now...I'm thankful it did.
I legitimately can't figure out if I liked this book or not. Some characters are so fucking stupid and annoying but I really liked some other characters and the writing was decent... 🤔🤔🤔 Have to figure this out before Sunday's video
I actually liked this book a lot more the second time around and while following along to the audiobook. I really loved the main character and how she grew from her kidnapping to the big battle.
We in Canada have done some disgusting things to indigenous communities in our short 150 years. This is a fantastic way to save and spread parts of indigenous history/culture. Many indigenous communities here suffer from low literacy rates (partially caused by the residential schools) which makes the idea of presenting these stories in art an even better idea. Stunningly beautiful gorgeous artwork. Can't wait for vol. 2
I freaking love this series so much. I had honestly forgotten so much of this story so really glad I did a reread
Each book I reread in this series makes me more and more annoyed how low key Neville was in the films! He's the chosen one people!
I hate Rowling so much for this book. She broke my feelings
26 years old and I still bawl like a damn baby through 3/4 of the book! How you gonna do Dobby like that Rowling?! How?!
