Ugh fml! Another awesome series?!

I'm like SUPER obsessed with this. I absolutely love the writing and overall tone of Sebastien de Castell's work! The world is pretty interesting and I loved how slowly the mystery/answers of the King's questing began to unravel in the end. There's so many funny and likeable characters that make the rag tag group relateable even when set in a fantasy. Definitely picking up the second book in February or March.

how is this series not more popular?! it's so damn good! the dialogue and work and politics and characters...the characters FLOOR me!

DEFINITELY my favourite of the series to far! So damn good!

Such a damn good series! Ugh!

Huh...I was expecting to hate or DNF this. I actually rented the book from the library to read it but I'm going to go buy my own copy tomorrow.

I ended up loving it. This book is by no means ground breaking or original but it's a really sweet fluff historic romance with characters that we are obsessed with in 2017. The cover is gorgeous and the book is so cute and sweet...and a good book to help you relax & detach. I loved both Alex and Eliza.

Everytime I read a novella, I think "does this contribute anything to the actual series?"

Now in full disclosure, it's been a while since I read Truthwitch and Windwitch (hence why I'm not actually rating it right now) but I legit don't know what this did for the series.

The story was a little all over the place with the name and POV jumping and the illustrations were honestly completely unnecessary and nothing super gorgeous.

*Puts Truthwitch and Windwitch back in TBR* I'll try to marathon these three and figure it out.

I absolutely loved this book! it's like King Midas but female and jewels instead of gold.

I really REALLY appreciated that the author didn't write a character placing nonstop internal blame for her gift/curse. I find that so infuriating and over used.

I loved the Dynamics of the relationship between the cursed Prince and his wife and how Will slid in. despite not being a very long book, the relationship between the three was built quickly and in a way I really enjoyed (and didn't roll my eyes at). I am so curious to see how that situation ends.

I need to know how Wil's romance will end! agh! if it's the curse doing it...I'mma be so angry and heartbroken!

I hope the next book will have some more world building and expand on the royals/rulers we met in this book. That secret princess is particularly catching my attention. There's gonna be so much questing in the sequel and I LOVE IT!

I definitely want Wil's dad and douche brother taken care of. I find they were definitely built to be big villains in the next book but I just...can't get a read on Wil:'s mom since she was in such a background role.

also...there's GOTTA be a reason for Wil's sister-in-law to have been introduced. that has to be fleshed out in book two too.

I love it when books have a scene in a library! <3 this book is such a good and cute sci-fi/fantasy. The illustrations really do add to the story and despite being like 500 pages, it was a surprisingly quick read. Super excited to read the next book!

I actually ended up enjoying this more than I thought I would. I liked the magic and the side characters a lot. I felt like the questing kind of dragged and lost some of my enjoyment in the book. It was also a little odd that enjoyed the side characters more than the main. They just seemed very generic and not super interesting.

PS this book awesome. Excited to chat with the author this month. Such a fun dystopian and the ending made much more sense to me the second time around.
