Not a white male protagonist in sight, but you will find the voices of a tiger,, an Indian woman, an executioner (one of my favorite stories in the collection), an alien bug, and a few other entertaining narrators.

I enjoyed some stories more than others. But I think the collection is worth the read on the sole basis of originality.

Super cute middle grade graphic novel. Definitely want to read the accompanying novel

I really enjoyed this. It was well paced, easy to read, and fresh.

This is a novel that reads like a memoir. This is a story of a woman floundering through a long line of relationships trying to fill the holes in herself created by her childhood. She never quite feels like she belongs anywhere. This is a novel about longing and learning and ultimately growing.

NPR calls the protagonist a nesting doll of otherness and I can't think of another way to describe her. Arab, Bisexual, anorexic, migrant and so much more.

There are snippets of this book that I really enjoyed, but overall it was lacking. About halfway through the foreshadowing was more like neon lights that spoiled the experience. The characters seemed under developed. The ending felt rushed. Meh.
