Summer romance.

I finished it with the hopes that there would be an excellent plot twist to make it worth it in the end, but alas, I was left disappointed. The author attempted a plot twist, but the reasoning seemed cheap. The characters were stereotypical and it felt a little like a teen movie from the 90s. The plot was full of holes, while also being overly complicated by references to an event that occured prior to the plot line.

In a nutshell, it was meh.

Unfortunately, I found nearly all the characters genuinely unlikable. The finals twists were predictable, perhaps due to my experience in mental health. Maybe I would have liked it better had I read it in the fall or winter when I prefer heavier content. I much preferred Gone Girl and Dark Places.
