I DNFed this when I initially tried it a few months ago, but really enjoyed it the second time around. Collins is really adept at writing mood and tension, and I really enjoyed reading this story between Léo and Claire unfold. Some readers will find the lack of detail in this story frustrating, it doesn't have much detail about the game itself, but I don't personally need too much of that, and enjoted the story. It's very atmospheric, one for fans of A Discovery of Witches and The Night Circus

Quite liked this, there was a lack of pay-off in the end for me though.

This is an excellently-written and comprehensive examination of how women are systematically ignored and dismissed in medical practice. One of the best non-fictions I've read for many years.
The story was interesting but i found the prose really boring

Wrong time for this book - not a theme I really want to read at this stage, although the writing certainly is beautiful.
slow-paced
An antiques dealer messes up her career assaulting a client and retreats to a ramshackle farm belonging to the Australian Navy, where she tries to patch her life back together and becomes increasingly terrified as someone starts leaving dead animals on her doorstep. The premise of this novel is fun and intriguing; it's certainly not every day that you come across a novel that pairs themes of Queen Anne furniture with a rural Australian farm setting. Unfortunately I didn't quite click with this one. There was something about the transient nature of the story that made it difficult for me to completely settle into it. I enjoyed it, but not something I will particularly remember.
