This was a strange story. I skimmed through a lot because I didn't really like it and found it somewhat disturbing.

I really liked the beginning of this book. The main character dies throughout the book, and each chapter shows a different story. In one chapter she drowns, but then in the next she's saved by a stranger. This book shows how many different directions one life can go and how life is affected by so many small decisions and chances. The middle dragged a little for me although I was very busy and had to set it down for a while. I'd still recommend it though.

Just as funny as his stand-up!

I really liked this book and would recommend it if you like historical fiction. I liked the story that took place in the 1930s more than I liked the story that took place in present day, but I could see that the author wanted to create a parallel story.

I really enjoyed this story even though it was sad at times. The characters were wonderful although Bean was my favorite.

I picked this up because it's about a family farm near Traverse City. I wish it hadn't read so bitter although who can blame the author since it takes place the year she gets divorced. It was nice to finally read a book about Michigan that got the setting right.

This was a pretty good read. Some parts were a little slow. There's a twist towards the end that I didn't see coming, and I can't believe that I didn't catch on sooner. I wouldn't tell anyone it was a must read, but it's a good one you can pick up and put down when you're busy.
