Frannie and Lexi have been best friends for a long time. Frannie just spent the last 4 years in prison for stealing money with Lexi for a very good reason while no one knew Lexi had something to do with it. Now Frannie's out and wants her share of the money to disappear from the life she has led and started over new.
But Lexi wants her to stay and for them to become best friends again.
I really liked the friendship between these two. I like the small town that Lexi settled in and all the people we get to meet. There is also a little bit of romance as Frannie connects with a boy she had a crush on, Seth. The writing style make that are very quick read for me.

Wow. This story was intense. It was good but also had some problems.
Sayers is a rich kid who is well liked by his classmates but doesn't have the greatest support system at home. He's a bystander while some of his friends are cruel to others and he doesn't fully participate but doesn't try to get them to stop.
Then Sayers is kidnapped by a madman. He's held captive and becomes brainwashed (develops Stockholm Syndrome ) by his captor Caleb. He is held for over a year and is eventually, miraculously rescued.
This is where I felt it should have stopped. The rest of the book was a bit forced in places and unnecessary in others. This kid went through so much trauma and he didn't get any type of counseling? He's rich, they can afford it. I don't know how this kid will go on.... He needed big help but didn't get it.
So I did like the book but there are a lot of things in here I'm torn on! I felt tense throughout the whole thing so that's a win.

I read this pretty quick partly because of a lot of text messaging inside. But I just wish the MC may have had more respect for herself. She's dealing with muscular dystrophy but she seems very "I'm not of worth unless guys are paying attention to me" And I just felt that conveyed a message that it shouldn't have conveyed. I would have liked it more if she was confident without guys intentions on her. Cole is very standoffish and I don't think he treats Maeve well. They were just a lot of parts of this that felt weird and off to me.

Super cute read! I love a good friends to lovers story and this was very sweet.
Violet and Kemp have been best friends for years. When Kemp gets the opportunity to go on a world race but wants to avoid a starter, he blurts out that he has a fiancée and so asks Violet to pretend and go along with him.
I love these two. They are such cute friends and when things progress to more, it's so natural. I love when Kemp realizes that he has loved Violet for a very long time.
The world adventure is full of such fun and exciting places and things they get to do. Violet has an amazing (sometimes though has to be terrifying) rare ability that you get to learn the ups and downs of and I'm so happy with the way Kemp reacts.

What I got- an unlikely duo having a sh** ton of sex, thinking about sex, devouring each other on beaches and in a church (CRINGE!) and oh... Finding small clues that lead them to the wrong suspect eventually at the tail end of the book.
Myles was kind of hot though but his inner dialogue didn't flow well with me.

This book was VERY open door so if that's not your thing...beware
BUT, I loved it. I loved that we get to see into the mind of our MC Lettie -her anxieties and her rage. There is great mental health talk with her therapist.
Both Lettie and Jack are broken people. They both have been handed heavy burdens in life. I won't give them away but I will say these two find in each other- comfort, vulnerability and ability to heal each other's souls.
Once they decide to see what they could be together, the chemistry is electric and has so much fire and sexiness to it. The sexual tension is just so palpable when they are together.
I can't wait to see where the next book takes these two.

This was a book I could see on the screen! It's so action packed and tense.
Restauranteur Callie's ex-husband shows up for the first time in years, he gets hit by a truck, and then because of his job... We find dangerous people coming after him. She hires a former bartender (that she had fired previously) because she knows he can help.
Callie was a woman who would do anything and does in fact do some dangerous stuff herself. She is pretty brave in certain situations. I liked how this book went and I can't wait to continue more of this series!

This was a great contemporary novel. This is a small town romance with a bit of frenemies to lovers with a bit of a love triangle.
Sam has stayed away from her small hometown. She was tired of being looked at and teased because of her criminal father. When she comes to visit her new niece and then finds out her mom is sick, she decides to stay a little longer than planned. Even if it risks her job and has her running into her frenemy, Garrett, who also was the one who stood her best friend up before their wedding.
But Sam and Garrett have always shared a bond of their fathers who have done wrong. They start to get closer but are at the risk of hurting two people close to them.
I just have to say, there are some real jerks in this town. I often found myself wanting to reach in and punch some people! But there are also such good people who have good advice for when the other tear them down. It just takes a lot of things to happen (including one very scary snowstorm and a small child) to make some of these people change their attitudes toward one another.

I love how fiery and dedicated Catalina is to her craft! Patricio is also amazing at his craft. Both of them are both trying to get out from under different types of pressures, Patricio with a maddening father and Catalina with her desire to not become like her mother trusting a mariachi that could leave her behind.
I really like the banter that these two share back and forth. They are amazing on stage together and they know how to help push each other forward to be the best that they can be.

This is a second in a series and not having read book 1 first, I didn't feel that I was lost in this next installment. I would have liked to know a few things that must be in book 1 beforehand but I felt ok with the knowledge I got through here.
Annie is a seasoned war photographer. She is tough and fearless. She's smart too. She does the best she can for her daughter when she's away (with the help of a good friend) . Her ex- husband though is such a racist pig of a man accusing his daughter's supposed "personality changes" on her friendship with a Muslim girl. Mel though is such an amazing girl. The fact that she takes it on her and her friend selves to raise money to rebuild a school that was burnt down in Afghanistan.
Annie is back in Afghanistan for a secret assignment but takes a side trip to try and find her best friend's daughter who has been missing. There are so many scary things that a lot of the book is tense but it was so good!
