I am so happy Hawk got a story! I love this US Marshall♥️
Great plot and endearing characters both old and new. I, of course, love the O'Briens and the MacNamara's but this book brought Liesl....a great person and match for Hawk. Her father is a terrifying sheriff in Sand Creek but the way she gets around him and helps her town while he terrorizes it, is very brave.
I really liked to see how Hawk's "heart of steel" thawed for Liesl. Together, they faced dangers with unbound knowledge of the criminals that Liesl was able to absorb in the background.

A chance to join a women's conference to help bolster your way through the "men's club" in your job?
Nicole gets this chance but it isn't what she thought it was. It's a big, tangled web of deceit and mistrust.
It plays on the #metoo movement without being so heavily in your face about it. But it's so twisty that I can't even describe it with my words. I just can say how brave I thought Nicole was in the face of all she was faced with.

First of all, I want to say...I want a protection squad that doesn't do their job very well 🤣 That group of guys are so funny!
Dee and Noah have been the best of friends forever and when Dee feels her job is on the line... She fakes being engaged to her best friend using her sister's successful love story! Noah, of course being the sweet guy who fell first, agrees.
Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. It's great to see if the friendship ever changes which is what they always worry about. It's great to see this couple keep their relationship intact, never wavering.
The town they live in is great! It feels so homey. The neon sign war between businesses is a hoot and helps with a grand gesture. Super cute book, makes you feel good and loved, and I enjoyed every minute.

An interesting tale that is very heavy on the literary. Saoirse goes with her fiance Jack to his childhood home where his mother is gravely ill. She deals with mental health issues (diagnosed) and she sees things that aren't there and often doesn't know between dreams and reality.
Her and Jack have a very strained relationship at this time because Jack treats her like she's crazy (that's the best word I can think to use). His parents look down on her not only because of her mental health but because she doesn't come from money.
She somehow slips through time to an ancestor of Jack's, Theo, who she grows to care for and falls into an affair with. But you and this host is cruel to them and treats them stay from each other time and time again.
It's an eerie, Gothic, haunting, mesmerizing story that ultimately helps the MCF choose her own destiny. Please make sure to read the author's note for background on her and why she wrote this book.

When Chelsea hears her father is getting remarried,v she flips out. She decides to retrace her steps of her year in Europe from 7 years ago to try and "find the girl she used to be". (Which obviously... Every moment of life we learn and grow, there's no going back to someone you were before) . What bugged me the most is she thought seeing the guys she dated while there would bring about this girl she used to be... But 7 years is a long time for things and people to stay the exact same.
It took Jason, her coworker who she couldn't stand, to make her see that she can't go back... Only can move forward. I knew right away that she would end up falling for him. I just didn't think it would be when he followed her to Paris.

Face blindness is one of the interesting and weird things a brain will do. After a near accident, this is what Sadie is diagnosed with..... Right before she has to get a PORTRAIT of someone done for a prize winning contest. Hard to do when you can't "see" faces.
But during this she also became attracted to two men.
Her dog's vet, Oliver and a guy from her building Joe.
Sadie had a difficult time with this but she also persevered more than I thought I would. She knew her art wouldn't be as good but she still tried it. I figured a little twist early on but it was fun to see that play out. I was SO UNCOMFORTABLE with Sadie's family though.... Especially step-sister Parker. She was a trash bully!
I felt this was another Center hit! I'm a big fan of this (auto-buy for me) author!

I love how Kristy's books feel like the epitome of summer to me!
This book is foremost about long lasting friendships and the hardships and highs we go through with friends.
3 best friends that went to a camp together and have stayed friends since need to find a way to save their beloved camp. One of my favorite aspects of this book is the passing of "hard things" between the friends. Letting someone you trust step in for moments that are hard and helping with that burden. That feels like true friendship.
I love the second (and some thirds) changes for some of our characters. I just knew that they would be able to help with these "hard things" and strengthen their bonds even when it takes a bit to get there. I adored every character except for one that's really toxic!
Another great summer hit with heart!

Nora is a 39 year old "tv romance" writer who sold a script based on the leaving of her no good husband. The crew is taking 2 days to film at her tea house and when they leave the star, Leo (40), stays.
I like Nora as both parents (because even when Ben was there, he wasn't a parent). She raised good kids who are sweet and look out for her. Leo is charming and I love how he embraces the small town life (grocery shopping for example 😂). A break up does happen and when you find out why, it's understandable and a little sweet.
I really like when I read books about people my age. This was a fast and super cute book.

Lies and deception surround Maribelle after the death of her husband. The state of the family company comes into question and it goes even deeper than missing money. Who was Samuel really?
This family....I really couldn't stand the mother. She was so unfeeling and uptight. She had no remorse for the death of her son-in-law. Her sisters are more concerned with other things.... One-covering up an affair of her own and the other wanting to take the job Samuel had.
