Ellie lives in Maple Falls and takes care of her sick mother. Zach is a billionaire running away from a malicious reporter to help his brother in MF with a charity hockey team-The Icebreakers.

Ellie wants nothing to do with him according to what she's heard about him, but she can't help but be attracted. Zach becomes a great guy in her eyes through his actions with her and her mom. She will help him navigate the trouble that's following him. 

This book was so cute and sweet. I flew through it. It really makes you think about judging someone before you ever get to know them. The town seems fun and I can't wait to read the other stories in this multi author series! 

I read Baby Teeth so long ago that I remember it was really well done and I remember being afraid of what Hanna did but that's about all. I wish I had picked up a copy to read the last little bit to refresh me a bit more but I don't think it's an absolute necessity. 

Now Hanna is grown up. She's a phlebotomist (and still likes to inflict pain when she feels like it) and gets married to a man 20 years her senior and becomes a stepmother to a 12 year old. She is trying to not let her past dictate her life now (too much). She writes letters to her younger brother to bounce her ideas and feelings off him. 

There are a few clever twists that really enhance the story as you look back on it. I'm really glad I have this follow up to Baby Teeth a chance. 

A hauntingly beautiful and sad book that brings the inspiration of Phantom of the Opera to the art world. Big themes of depression and seeking help to keep demons at bay. 

Maeve is an art wonder but she feels she's not appreciated until a mysterious Internet commentor (who she later finds is her most loved painter Phantom) gets her art caught by the eye of a prestigious art college. She gets early admission and is quickly a sensation.

Then she actually meets Phantom and they inspire Maeve in so many ways but they also are hiding a very dark past. Maeve will show Phantom what it means to love even in the very darkest parts of life. 

The ending is a bit bittersweet, but also makes you should at the very last sentence. The mental health help Maeve recieves helps her to find her true calling in teaching art therapy. 

I'm a long time Lisa fan and long time Marvel fan. When I heard about this book, I KNEW I needed to read it.

I liked it a lot. It's so fun seeing parts from the shows and the people I have come to love through the Marvel shows. Jessica is such a kick a** girl that I'm such a fan of. 

The story is interesting. You have to remember that this is a superhero world so there can be some leniency to what happens, but it was a great story! I can't wait for the rest

This was so sweet and inspired by Taylor/Travis. So we have Stone who plays for the NFL and Emerson who is trying to be discovered for her singing. Stone and Em's brother were best friends until his parents (unfairly) threw him away because they thought he took their son's chance to play football professionally. 

These two end up across the hall from each other years later and end up fake dating to try and get her signed to a record deal. They have to deal with the awkwardness of what her parents tore apart but they slowly develop real feelings (though his were never gone). 

Cute little middle grade book. 

Neon Blue, 12 and in middle school, thinks she's dying because she overhead her parents talking. I just had a feeling it wasn't her but even at the end, I was wrong. 

I liked this book because I feel what Neon heard gives her a bit of a purpose. She starts to really look at her world, her school, and people she may have never seen or got to know. I'm so happy she gave Bobby a chance to have a friend and I think they will be friends for life now. 

What wouldn't we all give to be able to hold conversations with loved ones that have passed on?

Julie lost her loved boyfriend Sam in an accident. Then she calls his phone just to hear his voicemail one more time, but he picks up. 
What follows is long talks with him as she falls all over again. She deals with her grief by these phone calls and the ones around her that love her get set aside.

It's beautiful and lyrical, it's heart breaking and very sad. 

This was a debut?! 😲 I can't believe it even after reading, this feels like a seasoned author. Well done B.K.!

This book has a bit of everything. Romance, suspense, tension, grumpiness, found family, two flawed MCs who help each other be "put back together", and so much more. 

I felt so bad for Claire and the sheltering she had as a child and in her marriage. After losing her husband, she had a tough time letting others in and kind of reading social cues. Danny, he's so grumpy and he has good reason (looking at his train wreck of an ex wife). I love the very hard road they go down to find each other and the comfort and love that they both deserve.  

This is a book that made me feel I wanted to immediately read it again and I will definitely be watching this author for more!! 

This was an interesting sci-fi read set in space. Synali has just killed her father in retaliation for him hiring an assassin to kill her mother. She sneaks into a riders tournament (they ride mechanical steeds and pretty much joust) where only nobles of Houses ride where she plans to die herself. But she lives and is taken under the wing of Dravik who promises to end the life of all 7 people who her father plotted with. 

I liked that while all other riders had EXTENSIVE training for YEARS and Synali just had mere months, she kept winning. Whether through her own determination or that of her steed, Heavenbreaker, it makes for some good entertainment.

I can't wait to see what else this world holds in store for us with the next book! 

Wow, this book was a whirlwind of a phenomenal story! 

Told from 2 women's POVs- Ainsley, who escaped her past but it's coming back to haunt her through the new coach of her kids school basketball team and Nikki who used to be a TV reporter and feels lost as a mom of 4.

These two will work together to figure out the despicableness of the coach (he's so disgusting) and bring it to light before anyone else gets hurt. They are both wonderful mothers who will do anything for this, including risking what they individually want.
