I absolutely loved this! A former boyband celebrity hiding out in a small town running a dog rescue? Falling for the local vet who crushed on him as a teenager? Such a fun plot!

Adam is living his life how he wants, but he's hiding away, rescuing and adopting out dogs and is just a sweet brother who lost his mom too young so helped finish raising his sister.

Laney was a HUGE fan of the boyband Midnight Rush and Deke was her fav.... Little does she know, Adam was Deke.
My favorite part was her falling for Adam and not knowing who he was until a hilarious scene outs him. But I love their connection to each other, even though it stays pretty strong after she realizes who he was.

I (like Laney once says in the book) kicked my feet multiple times with joy and giddiness because of the cuteness! Adam is the perfect book boyfriend 😚

An eye opening novel about depression and how it can look like the person is just thriving through life.

Mia finds a note hidden in a painting her mother gave her (a year to the day of her mother's funeral) before her death, alluding to truths she never got to tell Mia about.

Mia is also struggling with her boyfriend of 5 years and their stagnant relationship, her work- while at a Black owned magazine might promise a white guy over her- meeting the painter (Tyrese) of the artwork her mother gave her and how she feels more connected and comfortable with Tyrese than her boyfriend, and estrangement from her father and sister.

I liked that Mia was in therapy through the book (even though she eventually realized she needed a Black therapist to truly help her understand her depression and hardships) but the mental health support here is really an important aspect of the book.

This was cute and sweet and I liked that there was no real conflict. I really loved the second chance and that the MCs never stopped loving each other.

Keira is such a good person to go take care of her sister who is dealing with a disease and an absent runaway father and niece & nephew.

Dan is a good guy to help give Keira's nephew a chance at trying hockey by giving him lessons in his free time.

Of course it's awesome that Keira is a bookworm

Aww sisters.... Gotta love them! These two sisters have grown a bit apart and don't seem to know each other much anymore. When Ginger calls Cat to help save their family's theater camp for kids, Cat arrives to find a lot more than she thought she would. She thought she'd fix the problem quickly and get out, but she gets more in her plate than she originally assumed. On top of being pregnant, she doesn't need the stress.

I liked that they got to reconnect as close sisters but I wished for a little more excitement in the book

This was fun with getting to know the last Kasper sister Rose and her spy 😉 ways. I liked that the MMC (Anton) is a Prince from a small country that comes to the US to play football and he stays.

So Rose is hired as his security detail because of a threat, though they don't let him know that... But this is actually the second time she is doing this and the last time ended in disaster..... With them falling for each other but circumstances pulled them from each other.. So to say neither of them is totally happy is an understatement.

I do love how these two just can't help but soften toward each other for the second time. I like the "wear my jersey/number and no one else's" attitude, so swoony 😍

The ending was full of some surprises and a certain scene that just felt like justice was finally complete for these sisters. I'm going to miss hanging out in Cashmere Cove but am TOTALLY excited for whose book is to come next..

A cat and mouse game between a secret witch (Rune) and a witch hunter (Gideon). Both have their reasons for what they do. Rune because the city purges (k*lls) witches and Gideon because witches took the lives of his parents and sister.

This is a slow burn romance and the two MCs constantly try to one up each other in this game they play. I didn't much like the small love triangle though I could forgive as one of the three had NO IDEA the real feelings of another.

In the acknowledgements, the author says this book is loosely based on The Scarlet Pimpernel and looking back, I can see the inspirations throughout and I love it!

I can't wait for the conclusion, there is more subterfuge to surely behold.

Book 3 in the Susan Ford mysteries. This time around Susan has a new partner, Jack, and  there is a murder at a theater and it mimics a case her dad had in 1969 "the summer of love".

I liked that she was able to talk this case through with her dad to find the similarities and differences. I cried a bit when she found out her mom got a serious diagnosis and I liked how Susan handled her speaking with her mom during the trying time.

I liked to see her give Jack a hard time, but I really loved that she quickly realized that though they had different techniques in interrogation tactics- he was a good asset in the case.

This was the first book I've ever read by K.L. but I enjoyed it. It contains a good mystery, a nuanced detective Callie who has a complicated relationship with her father who used to be a cop, and was fast paced and engaging.

A missing girl reminds Callie of a girl her dad tried to locate, who also went missing, 5 years ago but he got sidelined in a situation gone wrong. I loved how one small, seemingly unremarkable thing, ties the 2 cases together.

I was so sure I knew who was the bad in this book but I was so wrong! It twisted my head in a good way and it made a lot of sense (sad but made sense).

Though I have many books of hers, this is the first one I read.

I enjoyed this small town, second chance (both romantic and friendship), grumpy/sunshine story of Row and Cal a lot.

Row, you could see the love he has for Cal even when he was gruff with her. The past rejection from Cal that made him so angry I felt was justified. I understood why it took so long for him to soften toward her again. I love their fighting/banter.

This town though....I couldn't stand most of the people. The way they treated Row and his vision for what his restaurant was doing and what selling the land would do was terrible.... Especially when you find out who they really should have turned against. Don't worry, that person gets their just desserts.

Van "Vanity" rescues Amelia from making a big mistake in marrying Drew.... When he catches the dude cheating RIGHT before the  wedding. They have 4 days together on HER honeymoon where they really get to know each other even more and Amelia gets to see that Van is NOT his reputation.

The way my anger flew EVERY TIME Drew was on the page. The guy is not just a cheat, he's a moron!

Now Van, I love how protective he gets and how he can play up the "they are together" acting when it's really called for. He makes me swoon. I giggled when Amelia and Van would be having a conversation in front of the other players or the player's girlfriends and just would bewilder everyone (except for Parker... She has an eye to find out what's NOT being said and interprets correctly).

Chapter 17! Oh, the PIVOT that took! I'll never be the same (I'm good, the HEA seals it 😉)
