An eerie, creepy, suspenseful tale..... you think you know who is speaking and who's diary entries you are reading..... it may be the same as the person who in the hospital, in a coma but aware of what's going on around her, or it may not be. I was thrown for a loop with that one. The ending POSSIBLY could lead to a sequel, although where to go from there.....I would have no idea!

well written and creepy. I really hate Phillip and for good reason! I can't believe what he put the women in his life through. he deserved everything he got, at the end and leading up to the end!

I love books that involve Australia. never read a book kind of centered around the early days of sending convicts down to Australia. It kind of bugged me that Sarah (like a lot of people) felt that one person, of a group of people like Aboriginals, hurt someone she loved, so all must be bad and no one can change. I'm glad that Captain Thackeray made her see that people can change for the better and that she forgave Daniel for his indiscretion

Took me a long time to get through the first part. Owen was a total scum. I think the book really picked up when Claire met Lissie and Antonia came to help her out. Good story though about starting your life over after your marriage breaks up

this is a very slow paced book. Hanna is kind of hard to get to know as she closes out most people. I do like that she travels to other towns to give them library books that they might otherwise not be able to get. I felt that there could have been a bit more romance (there isn't a whole lot) and that might have made me give more stars..... it was ok, not was I was expecting or hoping.

Cassie made a bungle of 2 people's hearts for her own selfish gain. Poor Lenora, I felt so bad for her.

I liked the writing style (half radio show/half what Sadie was doing)
I felt bad for Sadie because of her stutter. I felt sorry for her, but also understand the reason why she wanted to find "Keith". I thought the ending could possibly set up a follow up book..... Or wondering if we'll just be left to wonder if Sadie made it out of this alive.
I'm just glad she ended up stopping "Keith" even without knowing what happened to her.

Intriguing story from start to finish (over the course of only 8 days in the story). You think you have things figured out and then you get spun around in a totally different direction! I liked it quite a bit, can't wait to see what's next from this author.

What a ride of a novel. Without giving much away I can say I was enthralled, disgusted, riveted, proud, furious, etc... That ending! Unexpected and gives the title a whole new meaning than the one you get through the rest of the book (probably doesn't make sense)
I can't wait to read another of her books!
