How I love Christian! He's really such a good man. It was so sad what Genevieve had to do in order to save her family from scandal. The torment that was wrought upon her is unforgivable and her husband despicable.

I love Sarah's books!
Adam, is surely one to be feared, but slowly Persephone breaks through his walls he's built and slowly becomes more caring and loving.

I loved Evangeline! She quickly grew into her unfortunate circumstances with a fierce loyalty to those she grew to love. I love that Sarah used the language of the people of Yorkshire. Dermot and Ronan were loveable too! Dermot made me laugh with his "one knock a day" rule. The circumstances that surrounded these people is heartbreaking, especially knowing that most families had to send their kids to work at the Mill instead of school. Aunt Barton was so hard hearted towards Evangeline, I was always hoping she'd change.

3 1/2
good story of a girl trying to get on with her life after serving time in juvie for murdering her step father. I can't believe that her mom didn't believe her as to why she killed him (as you don't find out exactly why until near the end)
My favorite parts were about Leo, her brother, even though a traumatic thing happens with him being kidnapped by a family member and later abandoned to the neighbors.

I love a good mystery! I felt bad for Silja,Ruby and Angie. I hated Henry and Paul... what a crazy bunch of brothers they turned out to be. Paul being the worst of the two, he turned out to be a big pervert! Kept me riveted the whole book

One thing I'm bugged by (and only 30 pages in) is that there is no spacing between paragraphs that skip from one character doing one thing to another character doing another in the story.
The spacing never recovered, it all felt a bit rushed. That being said, I still got through this book quickly. I guessed the secret Mary's father was supposed to tell her way before it was revealed.
*I won this book in a group here on Goodreads*

I read this book in one day. It was ok. The writing makes it easy to read fast, but it also bugged me the way it was written! I don't think I'll continue with the series. The girls in it are kind of silly and don't seem to know what they are really doing in life..

From a Wyoming town divided by such hatred for the Irish people that live there, comes Katie. She has lead a hard life from the age of 8. She finally gets to find a place that feels like home among people that aren't her family but her Irish roots. They become family to her. I adore Tavish! He is witty and sweet! I can't wait to dive into the next book
