3 and 1/2 stars.
It took me about 100 pages to get used to inanimate objects being called like they were proper names, but I guess that's what you get when the story is narrated by the 5 year old in the book. But I ended up enjoying the book more than I thought I would. Interesting take and way to tell the story of a girl held hostage for 7 years and the boy she ends up having as a product of rape.

Great read! The ending took me by surprise, I didn't see it coming! I cried at the end.

This book pulled me in quick and didn't let go until the end. It's an interesting format

It took me so long to get into this book and the writing style (for a lot of the book there was no "dialogue" except most of it was dialogue in the story being told), but I did end up enjoying it in the end.

High sea adventure and romance ? Good book
I liked Amelia and I liked all the sailors that just welcomed her on the ship. Captain Drake was simply wonderful!
