I was expecting a hot cowboy romance-which it is. I wasn't expecting the suspense in this book.
100 pages in and our heroine, Aspen, has already been almost killed twice! Who wants her dead? Is it her "soon to be ex as soon as he signs the papers" husband David? Is it someone in town she has helped in her law practice? Is it the corrupt former sheriff, Case's father? The person responsible was a real shocker!
Case, the town's sheriff, is the last person who wants to have to protect Aspen. After all, she cost him not getting to raise his son for years.
Their chemistry becomes undeniable and they help each other learn to let the past go. I can't wait to read more of this town in the series!

Can these 2 write or what?
Shay witnesses a tragedy. Shay finds some new friends to help her through this tragedy. Are the Moore sisters too good to be true?
I was constantly saying to Shay, "Don't do it. Don't go there!".
The suspense is constantly having you on the edge of your seat. I like Sean and though he's not in a lot of the book- what he does is the mark of a true friend. He watches out for Shay when she thought only the sisters had her back.
Just when you think the sisters are the worst.... You find out that someone is worse than them and it was shocking, so manipulative!

The boys are back! I was so ready for this second installment with the boys we've come to know and love from Bromance.
I think Braden Mack has been my fav from the beginning. I loved getting to read his story. He always acts tough and macho, but I loved getting to see his softer side. Liv, Thea's sister, has grit and determination. I loved that she didn't back down from Mr. "I'm a celebrity chef and everyone should love me" ex-boss Royce.
I love the added characters of Rosie (she constantly made me laugh) and Hop and we can't forget Randy the Rooster!
I did miss getting to see a lot of the book they were reading to help out Mack....I liked that aspect of the first one. That aside, I loved this as much as the first.

The writing in this book is so great. I love that the "neighborhood" is the narrator! (That's what I felt anyway)
This book has one of the most despicable characters, Brad. He is not liked by most people for good reason! He does the most deplorable things and thinks the most deplorable things! But I believe signs of a well written, though not likeable, character is when I can't stop reading to see what the hell they are going to do next.
I liked Julia in the beginning, but hated how she was always being so manipulated by Brad. I was happy when she got out of that situation.
The ending had me raging and heartsick and broken. Unfortunately, these kinds of things do happen in our society.

This book was perfection! I liked it even more than The Friend Zone (which is very good!).
Sloan is still grieving the loss of her fiancé Brandon. She is jolted one day in her car by a dog jumping through her sunroof after she thinks she ran over him! She can't get a hold of the owner so she takes Tucker (dog) home.
When Sloan finally gets in touch with Jason, they keep in touch while Jason is out of the country through text and calls. It's all very flirty! Wait until she finds out who Jason really is!!
I laughed so hard sometimes-especially when Kristen is involved. I had fun and cried through Sloan and Jason's relationship. There are misunderstandings (but actually not as much as I felt there were with Kristen/Josh) but ultimately.... Their relationship is goals! So is the friendship between Sloan and Kristen.
Pick up this book if you enjoyed TFZ!

I loved getting back into the Lucy Kincaid novels. It's one of my favorite series!
When a grave of bones is found, it is revealed to be the Albright family. Denise Alright, accused of embezzleing over 3 million dollars from her company. Thought to have fled to Mexico 3 years earlier. Mom, dad, and two kids are in the Grace. But there are no bones for Ricky, the youngest of the family. 9 years old at the time of the family disappearance.... Was he buried elsewhere or did he survive and had been in hiding for the last 3 years?
Lucy is on the case to find out if Ricky is alive and it gets even bigger. Victoria-best friend of Denise is killed the same day the bones are found.
The case had so many twists and turns and new players are constantly brought into light. It was good though a bit complicated at times.
Thanks for another great book Allison Brennan!

I really liked Myron. He's snarky and quick witted. He just has this way of getting under people's skins in good and bad ways.
I do like the tying up of every little detail with the meat and disappearance of Kathy. It was crazy who was involved in her acting up in high school and her disappearance.
I would like to read more of Myron but hope they get a bit better as it goes along!

3.75 ⭐ What a crazy book. A family of con artists and their secrets and lies make a lot that go on. Poor Dana having to be thrust into this! I never really knew who to trust but the one I put my most trial in was a good bet!
I was slightly disappointed in the end because I really thought it might end different, but it's still great story!

This story follows the Torres sister in the year following their beloved sister Ana's death.
They live with a detached father who doesn't seem to care about his daughters-except for the fact that he hauls them back as they try to run away.
Jessica-perhaps taking it hardest of all- is very self destructive. She has an abusive boyfriend and doesn't seem to ever stand up for herself.
Iridian- is withdrawn. She hides mostly in her room, reading her sister's favorite book and trying to write her own.
Rosa- the sister who tries to keep the faith in her family, attending church alone. She seems quite resourceful for her young age.
The sister all start having ghostly encounters who they believe to be Ana-trying to tell them something. They all react in different ways.
This story is beautifully written and pulls at the heat strings. One of the most beautiful covers too!

This romcom doesn't stay that for long. It tackles some big, heavy issues.
While I feel sorry for what Kristen was going through, I felt that she was too much at times.
I did cry a lot in the last third of the book, but I wish that more of the book had been as emotionally gripping as the end was. I might have liked it more if it was not touted around as a romcom.
