I was 12 years old when Friends premiered. So I wasn't a watcher or fan..... At first.
One night, I was browsing TV channels (as we did "back then") and came across the ending of the Season 4 finale. I stopped in time for Ross to do his famous flub "I, take thee, Rachel". Now I didn't know the characters yet, but from the reaction of the studio audience...I KNEW this was a significant moment. Thus, my obsession began!
This book was great for a Friends fan. There was a lot of stuff that I already knew but there were still some surprises in store for me. I appreciate the author's dedication in talking to the show runners in collaboration for this book.

Adrienne's time in the jewelry business was fraught with people that took advantage of her. She always seemed to trust the wrong people which resulted in loss of money and merchandise. Not only by the men that seemed to dominate the jewelry business when she was starting out, but even by some women. I felt that she would have been more careful in all her dealings if she had had some kind of business degree. It was interesting to see where her journey took her. She taught a lot in this book about the industry for people who obviously don't know about it and it was educational.

The Spielman's buy a home- a mansion rumored to be haunted. They want to escape their past and try to start anew elsewhere. Will this house let them do just that or will it destroy them?
Myron, the father thinks it's a steal for the asking price. Margot, the mother quickly becomes terrified as strange things keep happening (a shadowy figure moving about the house, a certain light always left on, eerie writings on the wall, etc.). Hunter, the son lost without his friends he left behind, hates the house.
This family has dark secrets of their own. The house slowly unravels the secrets and the family's sanity.
We get glimpses of the horrors the house has seen through other families that have lived there throughout. There is a lot of sad history this house has seen. I felt like the house was an actual character.
The writing is very well done and kept me in suspense. Perfect thriller read!

This was such a fast paced read. We get into the lives of 4 former college friends/roommates as one of them is getting married at an extravagant resort.
Interspersed throughout the book is the confessions of 3 of these friends and a stranger they meet- all confessing to killing a man and having acted on their own. Who is telling the truth and who is lying? This was very the opposite of Big Little Lies (which I also loved) as in that... No one wants to confess to the murder.
We also have another story with Sydney Banks and get daughter Lydia. One of the friends, Kate, becomes suspicious of Sydney and her story. The ending of that story was probably the most interesting to me.
This was a riveting book and well done!

I like this book pretty well. Benedict is a Bow Street runner. He meets Georgianna Caversteed in Newgate prison of all places. He, there to uncover information about a plot to help Napoleon escape and she, there to marry a criminal. She needs to marry someone that will soon make her a widow to get out of marrying her cousin or anyone else that just wants her fortune.
Benedict didn't know what he was getting into!
It's a very easy and quick read... It just flies by. Can't wait to see the next installment!

I'm giving this a 3.5
This book (and the song) is based on something in African slave trading that I knew nothing about. It was common practice when slavers were traveling the ocean to throw overboard women who were pregnant.
Now what if these women were able to give birth to a new species? Ones that could breath underwater?
Yetu is called a Historian. She holds all the memories of her people. This is so all others can forget the past horrors and only falls on one.... The Historian. Once a year, the Historian shares the memories with her people. This gets to Yetu and as her people are remembering, she flees. She goes to the surface and discovers a bit of where her people came from. But will the guilt be too much for Yetu.... For abandoning her people?
This is an easy and quick read.

This was a cute fun story.
Nick wasn't ever really a jerk, he just had different thoughts as to what would make him happy. I did want to smack him sometimes for how stubnorn he could be in regards to letting go of work.
Abbey is such a great mother to Max! I loved her family. I love how determined she was to prove that she could be an interior decorator .
Feel good story for the Christmas season

I have not read the tale this is based on but it would be great to.
I was so entertained with this retelling of The 12 Dancing Princesses. It had a very gothic feel and such creepiness. I loved the unearthly feeling. The ghosts and the things that weren't real. This family goes through a lot with the deaths of so many sisters. It was nice to have a main character, Annaleigh, that was a genuinely nice girl. I loved Cassius even when we didn't know much about him. I really had no idea what was going on near the end until it was revealed. There is a little bit of romance in this and it's nice to break up the bleakness.

Ana was a bit too far fetched and crazy for my liking. she had these weird quirks about her, but I never connected to her at all.
