I thought this was a very beautiful and original story! I fell in love with the characters and I didn't want the book to end. I have to say though that the end really surprised me in a good way!
I actually really enjoyed Michael! He took the truth "Effy" told him at its value. I love how he just carried on as if Annabella was really Effy. I liked reading the flashbacks of some of her other lives. I loved how "Effy" handled Brogan. I was actually really surprised she came back, as Annabella, to Ayden......I honestly wasn't expecting that and so it was probably my favorite part! I feel there could be another story that could continue from this and that would be cool 😉

I felt the book was slow building the romance between the 2 characters but it started to speed up a bit when they finally got together.
I really flew through the pages once Alex got temporary custody over the 2 boys. He was so sweet with them and it hurt me when they were given back to their crappy parents...... But they came back to Alex in the end.

I was hoping this would be more spooky and mysterious than it was but it was still a very good story! I felt for Lydia, especially when Catherine was around. I really didn't like Catherine, she was selfish and cruel. I thought Cyrus had no redeeming qualities about him. Poor John and what he had to live with in his life, it was very sad. I thought it was a good fall read.

There were so many timelines and it was confusing at times! The first 2/3 if the book were very slow moving. I just wanted the mystery solved faster. I did like the ghost character/narrator!

This was an interesting read. I felt like I was reading a Twilight Zone episode or a BBC Black Mirror one.
It was written in an interesting way also..... And if you notice it, the end (where it kind of flips, that's all I can say without spoilers) makes sense as to who you are reading about.

I loved getting to read about Hope Springs and its residents again! The things that Maura had and have to go through are difficult. I'm so glad she finally decided to join her late husband's family and that they (of course being amazing people) welcome her. Maura catching Ryan outside the house with a pitchfork was pretty funny. It was great to see those two so solicitous with each other even though they both wanted the claim of the house/land for their own reasons all the while slowly falling for each other.
I really enjoyed this latest edition to this series.

A magical world reminiscent of Harry Potter in some ways. Ivy Lovely, going to a magic School at the Halls of Ivy, which should give a bit of an idea as to where the story might go.
I liked Ivy and Rebecca. Rebecca especially, a character that was a great support to Ivy and didn't act like some of the other rivals.
A magical, thoroughly fun book!

Birds of Wonder is a very character driven novel..... But I couldn't connect to any of them in any way. The mystery turns out to be less than mystery, but I don't know how to explain it. But I will say that it's very good writing for a debut.

I enjoyed this story. Having the countdown at the beginning of each chapter made me feel tension along with the characters! It really gave the sense that i was right there along with them and their trials. I liked Anouk and her fierceness to protect those she truly cared for.

I had certainly heard of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, but didn't know much about him. This story has the unusual courtship between Henry and Fanny where it was very one sided on his part.... At least in terms of love. They had a great intellectual friendship even as he always wanted more.
