This book was great and I read it really quickly! I loved Tilly, I hurt for her while she was with Jasper. I felt happy for her when she got away from him and found happiness elsewhere.

this was a short read, but the writing style bugged me.....it took a lot for me to get through it.

This was a very slow moving book. I was often confused with the 2 Jack characters. They should have been Jack Sr. and Jack Jr. so I didn't have to read certain paragraphs over and over again until I understood which one they were talking about. Cora was a very odd character and I never understood why she felt she had to change her life story so often. kind of disappointed in this read

I really struggled to get through this book. I had a love/hate relationship with it and it was mostly hate.... not that it was such a bad story, I just had a hard time wanting to read it. I felt I needed to finish the story of the first book, Netherwood and what was going on in another main characters life.

What a great story! My favorite line was "Up until then I'd thought that white people and colored people getting along was the big aim, but after that I decided everybody being colorless together was a better plan."

I love that Lily didn't see color, only people. I'm happy she found a safe place among the beekeeper sisters and that her father really didn't try to drag her back home with him. She certainly would have had a worse life if she was forced back with her father.
