I could not put this book down. I had no doubt that Celaena would win the King’s Assassin competition. I was hoping she would end up with Prince Dorian the entire time and when they first started kissing I SCREAMED with joy. I was super disappointed when she chose Chaol but it lead to great character development in the end for all three of these amazing characters.
This was a rollercoaster of emotions. First Chaol gets kidnapped and Celaena goes on a killing spree trying to save him. Then she finds out that Nehemia died and turns on Chaol which changes their entire relationship (or non-relationship at this point) as well as both their personalities. I loved it so much and could not put it down. It will definitely be a re-read in the future.
Who doesn’t love an enemy to lovers? Especially when Fae are involved. Rowan is by far one of my favorite characters and watching his and Aelins relationship grow is by far the best part about this entire series.
Phew. This book was CRAZY. With Dorian being captured by the darkness and Aelin trying to rescue him and her cousin, Aedion. There was a ton of action that just draws you in and puts you right in the middle of the story.
This wasn’t my favorite book in the series because Chaol is one of my least favorite characters. But I did the tandem read and do not regret it at all. I always highly recommend tandem reading to any of my friends who choose to read the series. I am glad that he found himself throughout this book and that he can move on from the past.
I always recommend doing the tandem read!! It was amazing and there was so much emotion throughout that I just couldn’t put the books down. I loved how the characters split up and you could get glimpses of action from each characters perspective. 10/10 loved!!
I am always for as much action as a book will give me and man did this book NOT disappoint. Aelin giving up her power, a piece of her, for her people was heart wrenching. My emotions were all over the place and I was so upset when I finally finished the series because I’ll never read it for the first time ever again.
No, just no. Don’t read it. It was terrible.
I love the movie so I thought I would enjoy the book too. Turns out romance books just aren’t for me. I was bored and struggled to make it through. Not to say it wasn’t a great book though AND it made a great movie.
