I genuinely liked this book but I didn’t read it voraciously like some others. I don’t give out 5 stars easily so I would say 3 stars is an enjoyable read and I plan to read the next in the series. I love dystopian fiction as a genre and I liked that this was different from most of the others and not overly YA from the standpoint of ... yes, the 16 y/o girl is the hero but she makes a lot of plans that consistently fail and adults are consistently outsmarting her. I appreciate that. In the end she is a likable and relatable character and I like a lot of the more complex themes that this book touches on. If I was a teacher or if I ran a YA book club for kids, I could teach to this book for sure.
