i just wasn’t vibing with it. i might try again in the future but for now
i liked the idea of it and i got about 20% in, but i felt like someone put me on a fucking spin cycle cause we were just rolling and tumbling from scene to scene. and the explanations were there but long and convoluted so i understood fuck all :,)

i was already pretty off put by the representation of the singular black character in the book, and even though she was written better (less stereotypical angry black woman who’s only personality trait is being black) in this book, the book started to drag. once des got kidnapped, the main character became very annoying for me so i stopped reading
