Wanted to read this prior to starting House of the Dragon, but I can't be arsed.

It's too long for me to commit to at this moment, especially considering it's unfinished at 32 books.

The poor writing had me cringing too hard to continue. Using “corporate-y vibes” as a descriptor is… something and I found it off-putting how the author had to point out someone’s brown skin in a situation where it added nothing to the story. The FMC is too immature, toxic and aggressive with the way she verbally berates the MMC in public, despite him treating her respectfully. I also found her to be so unnecessarily cruel with calling her ex-employee a “little shit” for politely resigning after she told her employees in a team meeting that the book store is going out of business (which he had every right to!). And then she goes on to comment about him smelling of armpits as he walks out, which was so mean. I’ve read some cringey romance novels, but this was too subpar to continue.
