the way this book (?) novel (?) world (?) is full of wisdom. not declared wisdom, but the process of getting there, then letting it change you, then having it challenge you to act. act. towards whatever appears true. it matters. it stays. it counts. I will I know hold on to this one as proof that there are real humans in this world who allow themselves to feel the weight of life without distracting themselves with living.
loved every minute of it. clear direct writing. felt like I was in the book, not just reading it.
is it true that we no longer write novels? only extended social media posts? because that is how I felt on reading Moon Tiger. as if I was reading a novel after a long time. loved every single thing about it.
the characters are so one-dimensional that it is impossible to enjoy the smut
the end did not work for me.. and the witches felt over-used.
otherwise, really enjoyed this story. I had read so many reviews that said it wasn’t feminist enough, but I loved that this was a tale of survival, not strength or resistance or the redistribution of resources.

I’d read so many reviews trashing this book’s writing style and lack of originality, that I wasn’t sure I was going to read it all. glad I did! the reviews are accurate, except that it was incredibly easy to identify with violet. and that identification made the ups and downs - clichéd, no doubt - really fun.
I loved that dragons and humans can communicate in this world.
