I honestly felt the plot was good and then she took a wrong turn. I feel she didn’t develop the characters and story as well as the first 4. Cara and Growl are great but the leaps their relationship and conclusions made was rushed. Cara mentions repeatedly she needed to find her mom and sister more than normal. It felt thrown in when there were other issues the author could have focused on. I think it’s good to read if you read the other 4 Books. It’s not my favorite of the series but it’s definitely worth reading.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like this book. I read a mix of reviews. Although I don’t think Aria would have made some of the decisions she made, I understand the need to give a challenge in the story. And Cora did great! I cried, got angry, and was on the edge of my seat. Cora has gotten better with every story. Luca and Aria are my favorite couple. I have 2 other favorites but by far they are the absolute best. This book enhanced their characters, we all have flaws, dreams and insecurities to overcome. I felt I could relate to Aria more in this book. I’m not married to the mob but her desires are something any wife, mother and sister can relate to. Plus, I felt this was a bonus to get a view of behind the scenes with other books in this series.

I appreciated the slow burn and flow of this story. No joke Pike is hot! I like that Jordan has a personality. She’s emotional, and level headed, which would be normal for her age. She seems more mature than 19 years old, also.

I want to check out other books from this author.

I liked hearing how the characters have grown. I liked reading how their lives are progressing. There’s always some sex, which works in their stories. This was a lot more and I felt just unnecessary too. Some of the scenes just didn’t seem like the characters too. Like Aria in the beginning… it felt as if I was reading another person with Aria’s name. Or it felt rushed. I would have preferred her to have given Mateo and Gianna their own book and sprinkled some of the extra characters in their. Or write a book about the 3 sisters from their perspective and their lives.

I’ve always liked this author and how she brings us into the character’s world. If you’re a fan of her work, view this book as extra added info for the character’s development.

It took a while for me to read this one Bc I didn’t like this a
20 something year old man being engaged to an 11 year old girl. But I love this author and read everything of hers.

She got Sofia’s emotions and feelings down great. The shadow of her sister’s memory. Watching her mature through her own eyes was a cool feature.

Danilo, Angst had a good Build up in the first part of the book. The “Sex with blondes as revenge” was stretched pretty far. I could believe for maybe 2 years after Fina left but 7?? Mmm I’d say homie had a huge thing for blondes.

The first part of the book was laid out well of Sofia and Danilo. The struggle, immaturity, growing up, etc. Even their wedding night, I could see that happening. But it kinda fell off after that. Danilo, is a sweet and kind husband not scary or intimidating at all. In reality, that’s cool…. But in this Mafia world… meh. He became a dry character to me. We knew a little of his Brutality in the beginning and a little of how he ran things but that’s about it.

I hate to say it but when Fina and Sofia meet, and we got a hint of Remo, I was a bit eager, hoping for shit to go down. But … it just doesn’t.

Overall, It was okay. The friendship between Anna and Sofia was a great bonus. Am looking forward to whenever she writes Anna’s story.

1.5 rating for me. *minor spoilers*

I was seriously disappointed in this book. I didn’t even want to finish it. I lost so much interest in the characters that I couldn’t connect with them or their story. I didn’t even care of what happens to them.

The build up was okay. Hearing of his abuse was helpful to understand him but then the story just fell flat and became predictable.

In short, both characters were lost and wounded people. And the author got lost in her goal with them. It’s a real shame bc this story had all the dynamics… just clear the author didn’t know what to do with them.
