I'm pissed that's the end! Just like that, almost as if she wanted you to turn the page again to make sure you didn't skip anything. I recommend it to anyone to read. It's settle and steady and then... The end! Any book that can move me to any emotion like this, deserves 5 stars!

Story stays with you
This story and its characters stay with you... Days after you read this. Regardless of your personal opinions of the ending, it still leaves you... Thoughtful. I'm still lost in thought over it! I encourage you to read it at least once.

It's not bad...
I think an ending would have been great. Sylvia wrapped up the story line with Corinne and gave us an understanding of Cary and the possible direction his life is taking. I think the story line of Eva's mom, wasn't necessary but it was nice to have a background story of Eva's family history. I'm glad we got to see how Eva and Gideon behaved in a huge crisis of a death. I don't feel this was a real ending... or closure for these characters. I felt there could have been something else but the authors note at the end makes it clear Sylvia herself didn't feel their story was over. More as if these characters are people she knows and their life is moving forward.
If you followed the crossfire series, you'd want to read this, if you don't, you're not missing anything.
Sad to know this is it for Gideon and Eva :/

It was a good lay out.
Funny.
Strong female lead.
Dominating male.
Sizzling sexuality.
A bit of romance.
A bit of a twist.
You felt satisfied at the end.
Only 2 complaints: the wording in some descriptions and punctuation. It's not horrible but it's noticeable.

First, I felt it necessary this author gave us an understanding of Mare, since she is the one we follow in this story. It helps to understand her world and her perspective. After she's introduced to the silver world, the story shifts and the drive for something better... to belong, and to have a conclusion that our main character chooses, is a shifted goal.
There is some form of a love story but it's not the main focus, but an important fact to the story.
Parts of this story drags and I would get bored with it but I think the story is great in itself. I'm thankful it's not a fairy tale and to kept true to the story and not a romance tale. Meaning the author keeps the same purpose through out the book. The reasons behind the goal may have changed but it's still the same goal we started with.
