I LOVED this the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is bc i feel like the ending did not totally live up to the rest of the book. But the rest of the book was so good i didnt care that much and the ending was still super bomb.

I just feel like the whole banquet thing should have been more hashed out and like the overall message of all the stuff with the cook and like The boogeyman stuff too. Like i understood that he had been cursed for a long time but then what did it really want?

But anyways. Definitely read this.

Idk about this one i liked the netflix show better lol… the main character was sometimes highly relatable but most of the time just gave me the impression that the author has never actually interacted with a woman ever. Nor a black person. The lengths to paint the main character as a “slut” was also so unnecessary and unrealistic idk. Its a no from me

I love this 😭 classic shojo but really addictive and has like a supernatural undertone kind of? Rural shinto practices etc. The characters are really young but its not gross, its extremely relatable and feels true to my adolescence and is also a cautionary tale of exploitation of young girls which i think is important. Also the art is amazing.
