When I found out that Hannah was writing a memoir, and that it was full of things she'd never talked about before, I expected saucy tales of her lesbian sexcapades or wild drunken nights or her favorite or least favorite MDK guests, that sort of thing.

What I did not expect was a heartwrenching tale of poverty and suffering and survival perpetrated by her mother's mental illness and the abandonment of family members who simply couldn't deal with it all.

I did not expect stories of adversity and pain, self-harm and self-hatred, homophobia and ultimately, acceptance and love.

This is not a book of puns (well, not entirely) and raucous tales (okay, there are some).

This is a book of strength and love and self-worth.

Hannah Hart has fought, and is still fighting in many ways, incredibly hard for everything she has.

When I found out Hannah was writing a memoir, I did not expect to be so completely humbled and inspired. But there you have it.

THAT ENDING THOUGH.

So, I listened to this because Lin-Manuel Miranda reads the audiobook. It just happened to be a happy bonus that the book is wonderful. It's sweet and lovely and it explores friendship and love and my goodness, this book is great.

Ove reminds me of the old guy from Up. A total curmudgeon who, deep down, when it counts, actually has something of a heart. This book is funny, it's heartwarming, and it'll probably make you cry at least once.

I read the #Hamiltome cover to cover in one day. I laughed, I cried, and when I finished it, I simply held it while I processed everything. This isn't just a Behind the Scenes book. This is the Biography of "Hamilton: The Musical", and it's a love letter to Hamilton (The musical AND the Ten Dollar Founding Father), Hip-Hop, Broadway, and the revolution that is "Hamilton". It's beautifully written, perfectly put together, filled with gorgeous photographs and Lin's lyrical annotations are everything you've ever wanted. This book is an absolute must-have for every fan of Hamilton, whether you've had the opportunity to see the show live or not.

This book is going to shatter you. You'll think it couldn't possibly get any sadder or worse for the main character, but it will. Your heart will break for him. But it is so beautifully written, that it's almost worth it.
