Holy shit. The lone survivor of a cursed film walks us through the story of filming the original-never-released film and the process of the new reboot, interspersed with the original screenplay. The whole book has the uneasy dread of Skinamarink, a tension with roots you can’t quite reach. This is Paul Tremblay’s best book yet. The Thin Kid is so unnerving, and I will be thinking about this book for a long, long time. 

A triad relationship with Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus. Some puppy play and degradation, but also lots of healthy communication. If you enjoy the rest of the Dark Olympus series, you’ll enjoy this one. Plus we get to see Hades and Persephone a little bit which is always nice. 

In a story reminiscent of the very real Dyatlov Pass, a group of rock climbers are found dead months after they went missing, but one person is still unaccounted for.

A gorgeously terrifying debut of wilderness horror, This Wretched Valley had my muscles coiled tighter and tighter with each turn of the page.

Jenny Kiefer has scaled her way to the top of my recommendations list.

Enid is a neurodivergent lesbian with a lot of repressed trauma. She’s scared of bald men and loves space and true crime. She’s paranoid and often terrified. Her mind is a fascinating place to hang out for the duration of the book. 
Also, therapy is great. 

Spicy werewolf fake dating romance! Level five on the Steam scale. Lots and lots of on the page scenes. 

A fun mystery with a treasure hunt and Russian spies and all kinds of twists and turns. Looking forward to catching the movie.

This collection of short stories is achingly beautiful and horrific. The actions in the stories are terrible, but the words on the page are gorgeous. This collection is a venomous snake, its scales glittering in the sunlight as it coils to strike. Eric LaRocca has a gift and I am so glad they are sharing it with the world. 

Lesbian Knives Out on a Boat! A foul-mouthed parrot! Dramatic readings of pornography! 

Enemies to lovers, f/f, steam level 4/5 (good chemistry, one or two on-the-page spicy scenes). Ice Queen Doctor and lovable nurse. What starts as the nurse unintentionally bidding on and winning a date package with the doctor at a fundraiser auction turns into her discovering the vulnerable layers beneath the hard shell and falling for her. There’s good communication and misunderstandings get resolved quickly.
