This was all I wanted it to be and much more. Funny, and fun, with colorful cast of characters, well crafted worldbuilding, exploring adult themes. And by adult themes I mean a clash between personal ambition and wanting to spend time with your family. A need to provide for them, but not to put them in danger. Adventure, and responsibility.

And also a clash between wanting to, ahem, have fun with your husband, and punish him for all his crimes and misdeeds.

And Amina, well, she can do it all :D

Now this is how you write an excellent  plot-and-politics-heavy enemies-to-lovers book!

I can't wait for the next installment in the series. Be warned though: it feels more like one book split into multiple parts, nothing got resolved here; I was warned in the summary so no complains from me.

This is such a perfect coming-of-age story. A realization that the world is much bigger than you thought, much more cruel, and much more wonderful, and that adults in your life have flaws, that they haven’t always been kind, that they have weaknesses, and that they can lie; to you or to themselves.

I guess I'll read anything set in this world; the worldbuilding itself is the main selling point for me. The bleakness of the world, its social issues, its politics... All very compelling for me.

Not to mention the characters. Flawed and imperfect, yet loveable (or not).

It even makes me read a mystery, of all the genres, and enjoy it. How did this happen??

Pravdivé, až to bolí. Jen ta poslední kapitola tam nemusela být. 

Powerful and raw for such a short book; I highlighted  so many quotes. I'll have to buy a physical copy and reread it again.
