While I liked the idea of the story the execution could have been better. It was very rushed, you don't really get to know the characters. It was almost like reading a movie from Hallmark or Lifetime.

I love that Dannika has made this and the one for the Seven series. It is really helpful with keeping characters and places straight. I do wish she would do more crossovers with the characters across the universe she has created more, tho I understand why she doesn't want to. I really like that in some way each series is connected to another via a character(s).

Not gonna lie while parts 1 & 2 are necessary, I found them to be pretty slow. Once the story got to part 3 I really started to enjoy the book. The story and the world/society were really interesting. I loved how Servo's character was and how he just kept surprising everyone. I am already curious about what is going to happen in Golden Son (book 2), I hope to see more of the people Darrow meets at the Institute.
