The writing is immature and boring. I had no interest in continuing
Lots of shouting on the audiobook, poor writing, antisemitism, and use of slurs portrayed in positive light. I viewed child character as neglected, but I think Blau was going for "free spirited" with the parents.
Graphic: Racial slurs, Antisemitism
I found the characters unbelievable and the language incredibly repetitive
The concept was interesting, but I couldn't finish this book. It was so boring! The characters were flat, dull, and were virtually identical. I kept waiting for Mae to make her own choices instead of blindly following what was expected of her. The bad grammar and awful dialogue made this book painful to listen to, along with the pitiful narration. I wanted a backstory on Annie- how did she rise so quickly through the ranks? I felt horribly creeped out by the concept of the Circle, as a business, which was the point, but I just couldn't force myself to finish this book.
DNF. This is not pleasant to listen to with the constant narrator changes and little plot past the first chapter.
Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living

Not for me
DNF I’m so bored I couldn’t bring myself to open the book to finish it.
How to Be a Conscious Eater: Making Food Choices That Are Good for You, Others, and the Planet
DID NOT FINISH
I think I misunderstood the premise of this book. I was hoping this book would guide me in my food shopping habits. Most of the book consists of harmful aspects of different food industries, with bits about how to be a conscious grocery shopper. There were some helpful tidbits, but overall I felt like this book was inaccessible to the average reader and shopper.
DNF. I was so bored. Characters had no personality. No descriptive or emotional narrative. Dry narrative with little world building. Not for me.
