Perfect book for getting you in the Christmas mood!
Rowan's really not in the Christmas sprit this year, to get her in the festive mood and get her mojo back, her best friends arrange to send her an advent calendar. Each present delivered daily by Alex, the cute delivery driver.
When I saw that it was in the same universe as 'P.S. I Hate You' which I listened to earlier this year and being back with the girlfriends club I instantly knew I was going to enjoy this book and it didn't disappoint.
I enjoyed that Alex's POVs drip fed info throughout and you got little snippets of what was happening but never fully revealing it all until the last 25% or so, it kept the book really interesting and then I flew through the last part once all the pieces started falling into place.
Feel like this is a bit of a slow burn to get to the point where Alex and Rowan become something more than just a woman and her delivery driver but how cute the first date was when we got there was definitely worth it!!
Trying not to spoil it but the tree decorating, the adventure and Christmas day were all so good and gave me all the feels (and the last was deffo a little spicy)

Wasn't sure what to expect going into this book, the blurb sounded promising but I wasn't a huge fan of The Spanish Love Description and how slow and painful the slow burn was, however I enjoyed this one so much
Sometimes as I read I make notes which I can use for reviews, the notes I made here were just "🥺🥺🥰🥰" which really sums up how I feel about Lucas
The 4th date and the grand gesture had me screaming, it was so cute and adorable I would like my own Lucas pls and thanks

From the outset I was captivated by the story and loved the journey we went on with the main character, Alex
Happyish is a book about finding yourself and discovering who you really are, what you want to do with your life and that it's never too late to change, and sometimes that change can be the best thing to happen to you
I really enjoyed the style of writing, as even though there were lots of heavy topics discussed throughout the book and the main character has lots of different struggles, it wasn't a heavy or sad read which I thought it could be going into it, I felt like it was more of an uplifting read

- single parent
- small town
TW: domestic violence
Hannah and her daughter, Ava, run away to a small town to start afresh. There she meets Brody, someone who she keeps pushing away, someone who she shouldn't like. However the more she pushes him away the more she's drawn to him.
Really enjoyed this book, I loved all the characters and how supportive they were to each other, even when they didn't know the full story with Hannah and loved that it allowed her to grow and become this new version of herself.
Brody might be my next fave book boyfriend, he was so kind and supportive and gave Hannah the space she needed to move on and fall in love again.
I loved how chaotic the childminders are, some of their outfits had me laughing out loud
Also the friendship between Ava and Bullet was adorable
