This is a very gentle and cozy book despite the characters having dealt with a lot in their past. It’s beautifully written and I liked it a lot. I wish we had understood a bit more from Harding’s perspective, and ultimately it didn’t quite catch fire enough to be a 5-star read for me. But, I still highly recommend it.

I liked this, but it’s despite being published in 2020 it’s an older-school historical romance. The MMC was a bit of an ass, albeit probably in a historically accurate way!

I really loved this angsty, hot class-difference enemies-to-lovers romance. It’s very emotional and the conflict and character development is expertly done. It also has one of the best opening chapters I’ve read in a long time- hooks you right away.

I wanted to love this, and it was enjoyable but it didn’t 100% work for me. There was a lot going on in the plot (sometimes I got confused with the extensive list of characters) and the romance ended up taking a back seat. The two MCs were compelling but I didn’t feel their emotional connection enough to be super invested. Also, without spoiling, some side characters (who I think we were meant to like and forgive for their mistakes) were very frustrating and irredeemable for me.

This series is just so good. The conflict and the “why aren’t they together already” of it all wasn’t quite as tightly plotted & written as in the previous two books, but it was still incredibly moving and compelling.

Just didn’t grab me, and I found the dialogue a bit cringe.
