The denouement felt rushed, but apart from that I really liked this book. Messy, complex characters and beautifully written prose. 

I absolutely love this book. By far my favorite of the Wedgeford Trials series (all are worth reading but this one is extra special). Andrew is a perfect sweet himbo and Lily is a wonderful neurodivergent heroine. There’s also great, deftly-handled explorations of the limitations of white feminism. 

Listen. Listen. He is a duke who has lived with wolves in the Canadian wilderness for the last decade, she has lived her whole life disguised as a man for reasons. Within one minute of meeting he figures her out because he SNIFFS her… aggressively, lasciviously and at length. With an audience. Do you really need to know more?!?  It’s very hot but also devastatingly romantic. I could quibble with a few plot points but I refuse to. Just a total banger.

If you like romantic suspense / heist capers, you should definitely give this book a try. It’s fun, and I LOVED that both MCs were over 40, but in the end it wasn’t quite for me. I think I am just not very into heist stories in book form. But more problematic for me was that the MCs didn’t really do enough growing together to convince me that the HEA was going to stick. I like Charish Reid as an author though and will certainly read her next non-heist romance! 

I love Vasti’s novellas but this didn’t work for me. Not enough conflict or tension, not enough character growth, not enough reason for them not to be at the HEA by half way through the book.
