Jen Comfort just writes the perfect contemporary romances. Truly funny, deeply emotional and with two characters who really need to learn and grown to be together. This is the ultimate black cat/golden retriever pairing; Reggie the FMC is spikey and emotionally unavailable and “unlikeable” but I loved this portrayal and her journey. Not quite a fully-rounded 5 stars because I would have liked a bit more time spent on the resolution at the end, but I absolutely loved this.

This was a real “how the hell will the author stick this landing and give these two idiots an HEA I can believe in” book. But Lorraine Heath can be trusted to land the damn plane. I had to suspend a lot of disbelief that a woman wouldn’t realize her beloved husband’s twin was impersonating him, but once I got past that, I loved this book. Not quite up there with the Duchess Hubt as my favorite Heath book, but close.

A sweet governess-Duke /childhood-friends-to-lovers novella that’s a retelling of a Christmas Carol.

A really great novella, set against the backdrop of a Luddite rebellion. The romance is very sweet and emotional- the MMC was the FMC’s brothers commanding officer in the army, and they struck up a correspondence via letter. He’s besotted, but there is a big class difference standing in their way (he’s the son of an Earl, she’s working class and a political agitator). I’ll definitely be looking out for more of this author’s books!

Sweet, hot little holiday novella. Would have liked a touch more time spent on the resolution at the end.

Very sweet and cozy friends-to-lovers story. Not quite enough conflict for me but it was a charming read.
