A great book. I feel like I've learned a lot about Cincinnati in general.

Can't wait to read the next volume! Throughout Swann's Way, I kept thinking "I wonder where this is even going?" Now I want to read the original (or at least an english translation) to see if there's a similar feeling. A great picture of early 1900s upper crust Paris.

A window into the refugee crisis. Includes the stories of many of the refugees Evans encountered while working and reporting in the camps at Calais and Dunkirk. Conveys the urgency of their straits.

Noam Chomsky's views on what we could have done differently in 2001, taken from interviews in the month after 9-11. Also provides a window on to what a wasted opportunity we had in the 1990s.

Great background for the march on Washington and the later Selma March. Also explained the beginnings of the fracturing of the civil rights movement that took place later in the 60s.

Couldn't put it down! Linked the struggle in Selma to the wider struggle, and to SNCC's subsequent change in direction.

takes me back....
