A rollercoaster I struggled to put down
To be honest, I wasn't sure what I expected going into this book, but I loved every second of it. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and was a thrilling mystery. I enjoyed it because I went through a similar experience (an incident where I ended up in hospital that I couldn't remember) so it felt pretty familiar (apart from the death part) I meant that I resonated with Jill and her struggling to remember, and her experiences in memory. I liked that parts of the story were told through online articles and police interveiws. It added an interesting perspective (like we, as the reader, were getting closer to what happened while the narrator was struggling. It reminded me slightly of Stephen Kings Carrie. All in all it was a fantastic novel and I devoured it in a few hours, only putting it down to run some errands and cook dinner. I recommend it to anyone. The characters and story pull you in, in a way that you really feel for what is going on. It made me anxious, nervous and made me want to cry. for someone who usually reads supernatural and paranormal books, this novel makes me want to read more books like this. 11/10

If you liked Scream, you'll like this
There was so much I loved about this book, and it was great, although I do think it could have been scarier (not that it wasnt, it was definitely creepy) like maybe the killer could have tormented them a bit more? If feel it would have created more tension if the main character knew she was a target for the majority of the book. And as for the main character....
I found it really hard to like Makani. I don't know what it was, she was just a bit.... Bratty? I dunno. I found it hard to sympathise with her. But Alex, Darby and Ollie? I loved them. And Melanie Gramdma. She was boss.
Overall it was a good book. And I think that every fan of the slasher genre should give it a go. You'll either love it or hate it. I personally did really enjoy it and if Stephanie Perkins writes any more horror novels I'll give them a read too. Don't be out off by other reviews or even this review. If your looking for something similar to scream or I know what you did last summer, then this is the book for you!

Sarcastic, witty and honest.
I feel like I'm really cheap at reviews because I never seem to feel like I do the books any justice. But I absolutely loved this novel. I was thrilled to return to Shady Creek and follow all the characters I feel in love with (might totally be in love with Simon but who wouldnt?) S story from Leahs point of view was interesting especially since she seemed so closed off in the first book. She reminded me of myself a little bit. And the story went somewhere I really did not expect it too and it was 😍😍 AMAZING. Once again I was blown away. I only started reading Becky Albertalli earlier this year and I must say she is fast becoming one of my new favorite writers. Can we have a sequel to this please becky? I need more of Simon, Bram, Nick, Abby and Leah in my life. If you loved the first book, or even the movie a tiny bit, you'll love this. 12/10, even a Gryffindor would recommend this novel told from the point of view of a Slytherin 😜

Powerful.
This book was incredible. A difficult subject matter, but this book isn't really about a mass shooting. It's about the aftermath. How we as humans all have the same capacity for hate and love, and how we all deal with tragedy in different ways and how the capacity for forgiveness is also in all of us, if only we let go of that hate How one event causes a ripple in everything and affects everyone. Jennifer captured this brilliantly in my opinion. I
Val was an amazing narrotor. How she struggled to deal with it and how everyone viewed her as guilty. I was hooked, I felt all the pain. All the smiles. I tested up and that honestly something I don't do a lot when reading. Please give this a read, it's worth it. Powerful, compelling, and maybe we can all learn something from the story of the students of Garvin High12\10

Enchanting
I was a little weary going into this book, I'm not going to lie. I heard it was a retelling of the little mermaid and to be honest I'm not really a fan. But this book was incredible. Although it is a way a retelling of the little mermaid, it's completely different and much much darker. This isn't the story of a girl seeking out love. It's the story of two enemies who are heirs to kingdoms they don't want. It was magically, funny, full of pirates, adventure, magic, sarcasm and loyalty. Truly worth a read for people who both loved the little mermaid and who didnt. 12\10 would recommend but bring your wetsuit.

the movie was good, but this is so much better and different in every way
I'll admit, I wasn't really keen on reading this series. I don't know why. I enjoyed the movies, but they didn't leave me thinking that I needed to read the books.
I started the first one as more of an obligation. I had bought all four books after all, so why not read them.
I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed the maze runner, but the movie follows the plot quiet similarly but I really did enjoy it. But the scorch trials...
I loved this book. It was different from the movie in every way. I was hooked, I struggled to put it down. It amazes me that a movie adaptation hardly had anything at all from the book. This was fantastic and left me feeling more fulfilled than any movie could. My only regret is I put it off for so long.

A fast paced, nail biting brilliant game of Faye Politics
I wasn't sure i was going to enjoy this, as I haven't really found myself drawn to books about the Faye, but I really enjoyed this. The writing was beautiful, it was witty, nerve racking, full of scheme after scheme and people grasping for power at every turn, and I was never fully sure if and when someone would end up with a knife in the gut. I started not sure if I wanted to read this and now I can't wait to read the second one. It was brilliant.
