This was HORRIFYING. I went in expecting one with and got something else. It jumped into disturbing right from the get go, building an uneasy atmosphere of isolation and danger. There were times I had to put it down because it creeped me out so much. Anyone who knows me knows one of my biggest fear is worms - (in any form. Bad experience from childhood.) so this was.. yeah. It was so good but at the same time, f**k this book so much.

I could not put this down. It was everything I wanted and more from The Scholomance. The banter, El's hilarious inner monologue, the friendships that formed and grew - and the danger. So much danger and so much character growth. The tension in this book was so thick you could cut it with a knife, as with each page the senior year got closer and closer to the dreaded graduation.

I love this series and this had such an amazing prolouge that had me so excited but the book soon turned into a drag with a pace that made me want to cry at points. There was little to no action except in the last few chapters - it was mostly politics and building anticipation (which i enjoyed), but it left the actual action feeling rushed. Still feeling frustrated with the women in this series - I'm over how emasculting and superior they act towards men. It's boring, this far into the series. At least Nyneave is showing some growth though.

This was a fun witchy read and continuation of The Ravens, but I enjoyed the first book more. I felt this was a little too predictable and everything wrapped up a little too neatly. Sometimes I felt the characters were focused on trivial things instead of focusing on what was going on. There was a fun and tense element of mystery too it. I would have liked to see more of The Monarchs, considering the book was named for them but they were a background presence.

This was utterly perfect. It was a great return to Sunnydale that felt like it fit in so well with the Canon of the show, it was like picking up a season 8 of the show. We meet a new group of scoobies who are tied in with the old, and mirror them so well. It made me so nostalgic and made my heart so happy - even all the easter eggs and call backs to the show were incredible and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has in store.

This installment felt alot darker and gritter than the last, as Darren's journey as a Vampires Assitant truly begins and he struggles with the morals of his humanity and drinking blood to survive. Usually characters are happy to become vampires but in Darren's case, he's utterly miserable and it feels so real, and you can't help but sympathise with him and his desire to just be a normal boy.

This was such an action packed, tense final. I didn't know what to expect but each page pulled me along with a racing heart and my anxiety at the max. It was everything I wanted from an ending, and more - but I do feel the last few chapters felt a bit rushed. I'm forever thankful I gave this series the chance it deserves.

Really enjoyed this installment. There was a great amount of tension, and twists and taking Claire out of Morganville and away from her friends was a refreshing change. Caine keeps it fresh and interesting, and we meet some intriguing new characters as the series builds to its endgame. You can take the girl out of Morganville, but you can't take Morganville out of the girl.
