First things first, I never felt so dumb reading a fiction book as I felt with this. Maybe it's the sci-fi, maybe it's my brain, but it really took me a minute to understand most of the things going down.
Now, even though I found this book beautifully written and the yearning of enemies-to-lovers was GREAT I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like time travel narratives. Even when it got to the end and I had already kind of guessed how it would go, it still made me angry lol

I’m slowly realising I enjoy Ishiguro’s writing quite a lot. This is the second book of his I read and although I didn’t like the first one as much (that being The Buried Giant), I couldn’t stop thinking about it ever since I finished it and that holds a lot of meaning to me. Klara and the Sun was definitely an easier read and it’s hard to not love Klara as a character, so that helped. But even if it wasn’t for the compelling narrative, the way he writes holds so much delicacy that it would be enough to keep me hooked. I’m exited to keep exploring his work <3

This was such a lovely easy read! Although it touches on some gruesome subjects, the characters are so easy to grow attached to and I was pleasantly surprised about how the story unfolded. The pacing is great and the small chapters are a great help for that, as well as to help us understand how direct Yunjae’s mind is. Can’t wait to see what comes next from Wonpyung!!

I love when a hyped book is actually deserving of said hype

I really didn’t expect do like this as much as I did! Maybe I don’t dislike sci-fi as much as I think I do? The story was so well built, the characters felt overall believable and the pacing was great. Such a easy and fun read as I was hooked straight away and read it basically in a day. Can’t wait to devour the next one!
