What I learned from this book: After the Declaration of Independence was signed, a NEW DAY OF FREEDOM REIGNED. Uh anyway, it was well-written I guess but pretty bro-ed out on Bromerica.

I like Anne Lamott's nonfiction way better than her fiction. This was a fun read, but definitely not my favorite.

I got extra enjoyment out of these interconnected short stories because of my own stint in the Caribbean. Really strong, funny and/or moving stories, and I love the way they twine together.

i was so lost before this book entered my life.

much more life-changing than life of pi.

I hadn't read this book in years but I loved it when I was a kid and I still love it. Aww. Even the end when it gets weird and too much about being a good wife, it's still good. Also this Penguin edition had really helpful footnotes and a really good introduction. Hooray!

This was a fun read, nothing life-changing or anything.

i like short stories and i like david sedaris and i like books that support charitable causes.

I could not get into this. Maybe I'll try again later. It SEEMS like a book I'd like but I just found it very difficult to read.
