It's maybe not the best idea to read all of these in a row so quickly, since they are pretty formulaic and they start to blur together. But still, I liked the character development for The Guy Who Hates It When They Put Corn in the Chili. I liked Lilly having an excuse for being a crazy bitch. A little tired of Mia's insecurities, as relatable and funny as they are.
Yes yes yes. I'm really glad about the direction Meg Cabot is taking Mia and Michael's relationship. I was afraid it was going to be toooo high school romance novelly but I think it is pretty realistic.
HOORAY, I think this is my favorite Princess Diaries book. I am sooo glad Mia is finally realizing what a crazy B Lilly is. I like her hesitant reconciliation with Lana. I like Lana's hilarious but well-meaning bitchiness. I like Mia's meltdown, I like JP, and I like the ~historical intrigue~. Sigh! Perfect.
Maybe it's just that I was so relieved that prom was over, but I think this was one of my favorites of the series. I'm glad Meg Cabot finally started really dealing with the age difference between Michael and Mia. I'm stoked to read the next one and wondering if there will be a princess breakup! :O
Also, Lilly is getting increasingly crazy and bitchy.

YES. This was a good antidote to some of Mia's whinier moments. A super breezy, funny book. HOORAY.
Oh boy. I cried SO MUCH when I read this. It hit really close to home and it has one of the best fictional portrayals of grief that I've read.
Wow. Intense. Good. I'm glad I have a Princess Diaries book to read next because this did a really good job of putting me in a sad, anorexic, crazy girl's mindset. Not a light read, but it did keep me engaged... wondering whether or not Lia was going to survive the book.
This a really cute middle grade book. I think it's aimed a little younger than the YA books I usually read and enjoy, so for me, 3 stars. For the appropriate age group, 4 or 5. I love all the detail in the crazy magic farm, and I did get really invested in the mysterious rainfall problem!
I really like this series. Very funny, and great characters. Mia's cat care instructions are one of the funniest things I've ever read.
My one concern is (spoiler, I guess) Mia's love interest's age. Michael's great! But he's going to college and she'll be a sophomore in high school? Ack. On the other hand, 2 of my good friends started dating when he was a HS senior and she was a sophomore and now they are married. So I guess it could happen. I guess it is, in fact, more likely to happen than a girl suddenly discovering that she is a princess. But somehow it FEELS less real! HMMM.

Oh my gosh, no one told me how addictive these books are!! It's like injecting princess Mia straight into my bloodstream. That was a weird way to put that. Anyway, this was a really quick, fun read. And such a perfect high school girl characterization. Bam. Onto book three.
