Oh, I forgot to add this to GoodReads when I first read it and most people who care have probably already read this by now! Whatevs here's MY OPINION
It was hard for me to read this as a separate thing from the podcast--hearing the character's voices and such. I think it's a good adaptation and definitely could serve as a great jumping-on point for someone who's interested in the podcast but wary of committing to that many hours of listening. The art is charming, and I think the ending especially does a great job of connecting this to arc to the over-arching story of the podcast.

Super cute concept, unevenly executed! I'll def check out the next volume to see where it goes from here.
Ooh yesss, I loved seeing Jean Grey reckoning with her full abilities in a responsible...ish way, and I loved this update on mutant-as-metaphor-for-the-oppressed, where mutants are paralleling refugees/immigrants. And I love Trinary and her pet Sentinel, and OBV I LOVE HONEY BADGER and I loved her and Wolverine getting to see a mermaid!!!!!!

I loveddddd Tom Taylor's All-New Wolverine run and I'm very grumpy about change! First arcs of new comics are always hard! This was fine I guess!

My fave part of this is the implication that off-panel, Wanda Maximoff and Tony Stark worked together to reanimate a robot dog.
did not love this...although this is a recent reprint it's an older comic, and this characterization of Shuri didn't click for me (as a latecomer to Black Panther, drawn in by the movie...which tbf I think will be the case for a lot of readers). Also I know it's comics but she is UNCOMFORTABLY stacked and it looks WILD in the Black Panther costume.
Comics are weird; this was fun. I mean how can you not enjoy a comic where Tony Stark defeats an enemy simply by setting up such a hot online dating profile that it breaks the internet?
ehh I'd seen panels from this online and thought "yuh oh, this one sounds too grim for my taste" but then it caught my eye on the returns cart at the library and I thought "Wellllllll let me just check it out" and folks

It's billed as a horror comic and like...if you like that kind of thing...great. But I don't and I know that about myself and I tried to read it anyway! Oh well!
I did enjoy the brief college flashback in which teen genius Bruce Banner announces that he's given away his entire wardrobe and replaced it with 10 matching purple outfits because, like Einstein, he doesn't want to waste time deciding what to wear. So it's just FULL ON PURPLE EVERY DAY apparently god what a brilliant mind.

I really enjoyed this book! I read it as an e-arc but given the illustrations and sidebars I imagine the finished print copy will have the feel of a browsable coffee table type book. If you're a fan of Dwayne The Rock Johnson (and who isn't), this is just the perfect blend of biography and analysis of what makes him SUCH a delightful celebrity figure.
