I...I don't really know what's happening anymore but the art is great?
Like I just said about Saga, I should probably just wait until this is over and read it all at once, it is really hard for me to follow. Which is partly on me for trade-waiting but also IMHO this really could have used a better "Previously..."

Tardy to the party on this one but better late than never! This book comes up a lot in discussions of the Little House books as a readalike or read-instead-of, and it definitely appealed to me in that same way, that same seems-like-it-should-be-sort-of-boring old timey historical daily routine stuff. But since this is set in an Ojibwa village it's more new-to-me information, and I loved Omakayas' reflectiveness and honesty as a narrator. Erdrich's illustrations were lovely as well.
*Disclaimer, I know the Little House books are problematic but I loved them at too young of an age, they're just imprinted on me on some level

1) I read the first GG book for a Worst Bestsellers episode, and then I had an extended illness and read ALL of the other books from my sickbed.
2) then I got on GR and discovered that I read the first 2 books in 2011, which I have no memory of doing.
3) Anyway, these are all like...very fun trash.
4) Also, the more I think about them, maybe like...kind of revolutionary, almost, in how unconcerned Cecily vZ with the girls being ~likeable~.
5) But also of course they are pretty classist and un-diverse. But it's also kind of self-aware of that. IDK.
6) I'm probably the last person to read these so who cares what I think anywayyy!

(I don't have it in me to write separate reviews for all of these--I read them all so close together that they all blur together. I enjoyed them all, obviously.)

I can't believe I got to the 11th one and was like, I want more?? I'm pretty satisfied with the ending though. BUT I wouldn't be mad if CvZ did a Sweet Valley style comeback about them as adults. BRING IT ON.
