Mmm, I skimmed this a lot. It turns out that as much as I love Clueless, I maybe really only love it like "lengthy magazine article" level? There are definitely a lot of fun anecdotes in here, and someone who's more specifically interested in the movie industry or w/e might really appreciate it.
Also, again--I love Clueless and have seen it many times, but this book really seemed to assume that I have the whole movie memorized scene for scene, which is not quite the level I'm at. But I enjoyed skimming this and definitely want to re-watch the movie now.

This was pretty fun and definitely way better than [b:Arrow Vol. 1|17671957|Arrow Vol. 1|Marc Guggenheim|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1375569077s/17671957.jpg|24670944] because it has FELICITY in it. She's not even a series regular on this show but THIS book acknowledged that she's obviously the best part of whatever show she happens to be on or adjacent to, unlike ARROW which mistakenly believes we're all hungry for more goddamn Flashback Island nonsense.
ahem, anyway, it's pretty fun. Not like... as fun as the TV show... but fine.

This is a fun concept and one that obviously appeals to me as a librarian. I don't read much manga and it's still kind of hard for me to read it and understand all the tropes. I know this is popular with a lot of my teens and I assume they are into the romance plotline that was just pretty meh for me.
still, yay libraries!

Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman Vol. 1

Oh man, so fun!! I like the concept of Wonder Woman but I found the post-Gail Simone new 52 take on her so snoozy. This collection of one-shots reminded me of fanfiction in the best way, just fun little adventures, often featuring other awesome ladies. I looved the one about Catwoman taking her out for coffee (and maybe I ship it now??) and the one where Wonder Woman went on a talk show. And obv Gail Simone's Oracle + WW team-up. I was a little meh on a few of the other stories in here (possibly a few that would have benefited from me having more in-depth knowledge of the DC universe?), but overall as a collection, so awesome!!
I probably give the first half of this book three stars, but I'm going with four overall because of how much I cried at the last few chapters. I can't help it, you guys, reading about Jim Henson makes me cry. He is a savvy businessman and a SAINT, okay? A SAINT. Anyway. This isn't especially compelling narrative nonfiction, but the story of the creation of Sesame Street is pretty interesting. I got more involved once it got past all the fundraising and wheelings & dealings involved. I prefer Sesame Street celeb gossip, and stories about the actual ideology behind Sesame Street.
I think most of the problems I had with this book were on my end...
1) it's clearly a tie-in to some shit I don't understand
2) I don't give a shit abou Red Skull, what is he doing all up in my X-men stories
3) I've read a lot of fanfiction about Magneto and that format is perhaps better able to explore the nuances of Magneto, because he's a super complicated character and here it's just like, yeah, no, I get it, because the Holocaust. I GET IT.
I checked out vols 3 and 4 of this but I think I'm prob done reading this series unless I hear from someone I trust that it gets better...?

I just re-read this because we just got it at the library. (When I ordered [b:Step Aside, Pops: A Hark! a Vagrant Collection|23848561|Step Aside, Pops A Hark! a Vagrant Collection|Kate Beaton|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1446841265s/23848561.jpg|43458443] I realized we didn't have this one. An oversight that has now been CORRECTED). Anyway, it's still perf, if you were wondering.

I read most of these online already (and you probably did too) but it was just delightful to revisit them. So sharp and funny, just so good.
Also it's a very nice volume, very suitable for gift-giving.

It took me a little while to get into this but ahhh, so fun! There are a lot of familiar fantasy tropes and characters in here but it was just so fun I kept going. I liked that Maas assumes that you'll understand the tropes she's using without needing to fill in a ton of world-building... I think a certain type of fantasy fan would likely want way more info about the magic (or lack thereof) and political unrest happening here, but for me I was like, "great, I get it, let's move on, thanks!"
off to read [b:Crown of Midnight|17167166|Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)|Sarah J. Maas|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1391580481s/17167166.jpg|21581860] now, byeeee

Ahh, so fun! Like with [b:Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman Vol. 1|23012559|Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman Vol. 1|Gail Simone|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1429103964s/23012559.jpg|42480046] (and, like, basically any anthology ever) there were some comics I liked more than others... I looved the one illustrated by Noelle Stevenson where Diana kicks ass at DDR on the boardwalk. As usual, anything set around Paradise Island was a little whatever to me, just because for whatever reason I find it really hard to be interested in stories about the Amazons?? I'm way more into WW out in Earth doing awesome stuff (or in one case, in space with her WW costume space suit). Ohh and I loved the one where Lois Lane interviews her! So fun!
